One day the way home from an event, I realized that I was driving directly behind my neighbor. Noticing she took an unusual turn, I decided at the spur of the moment to follow her.

I would just go along with the path she was taking (just in case her way was faster).

Well, it started out great…then we got to a sharp left turn which was quite impossible with all the traffic. As she went forth, I remained trapped at this turn for a good two to three minutes. Needless to say, I had a lot of people mad at me!

I ended up having to turn around and take my normal path. After wasting an extra ten minutes, I returned home more frustrated than ever. So what’s the point?

During this encounter, God began revealing to me the importance of staying on the path that HE has ordained for ME.

Sometimes it’s very easy to look at the road others are taking and want to jump on board. It’s even easier to envy another’s path. But what path has God ALREADY ordained for you? You see, just because all your friends are starting a business…do you have to? Just because everyone is having more you have to? Just because everyone is going to a certain church or group does that mean it’s your path also? Of course not, if we are indeed God’s special and unique creation don’t you believe that God has special and unique plans that are for us.

DO NOT fall into the trap of envy or wanting to simply follow. Remember the path I took may have been faster. However, because of how God created me to be (not an aggressive driver lol), it took longer. It was more frustrating, and it frustrated others in the process. And guess what..that neighbor that I was following arrived at her destination quicker and more effectively because she followed her path! What would have happened if this neighbor would have realized I was following her and decided to wait for me to have an opening before she made her turn? Even she would have suffered from my bad decision.

God wants us to have our best journey. A journey where we can thrive and have victory in all we do! All we have to do is follow HIS leading and HE will guide OUR paths.

Proverbs 4:26- Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established.

Proverbs 3:6- In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
