My blood type is O negative. This type of blood is rare and is also considered the universal donor. Any other blood type can accept O negative for transfusions. Unfortunately, I can only receive 0 negative blood if I needed a transfusion. A total of 35 human blood group systems are now recognized by the International Society of Blood Transfusion.

Romans 8:39 “No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The same blood types span across all nationalities and ethnicities. God made all of us the same inside. We share blood types, along with the number of muscles, tendons, and bones in our bodies. When God looks down on His creation, He does not see us the way we see each other. God sees each one of us as His children. Human hearts created divisions based on factors like size, skin color or mental abilities. Discrimination is not a Godly trait.

Matthew 26:28 “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

God loves people based on the condition of their hearts. The love of God sent Jesus to shed His blood for each one of us. As Romans 8:39 reminds us, nothing will separate any us from the love of God. Our man-made division goes against God’s command to love one another as found in John 13:34. In a world full of malice, we must stand up for others and be the difference that changes the world.

Ephesians 1:7 “He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.”

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, help us to see our neighbors through your eyes. Teach us to love everyone as you love us. Heal our world from all forms of discrimination and hatred. Forgive us when we judge others. Thank you for your grace and forgiveness when we fall short. In Christ’s name, we pray. Amen

Ephesians 2:8 For it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God.
