Lord show me what you have for me to write. I want the words that come from my fingertips to be that of Your Truth. Father give me something that someone needs to hear. Allow me to be Your hands and feet. Let not one word not be one of Your own.

I was doing a devotion the other day that was a snip it on Bob Goff’s new book “Everybody Always”. Day 3 he was talking about who we are and who we act like we are and the necessity to be “you”. About a third of the way through he hit me with this “God has never looked into your mirror or mine and wished He saw someone else”. WOW!

I have looked in my mirror a ton of times and wished I saw someone else. Someone 10 lbs lighter, someone having a good hair day, someone braver, someone anxiety free. I could go on. But, God, the God of the universe, the one who created me has never thought those things. When He looks in my mirror, or yours, He sees love. He sees the perfection that He created. He knows the number of hairs on your head. He knew everything that you have done and will do ever before you did it and He isn’t looking at you with anything but a heart bursting with love.

The plan and the path that He has for me and you, all that comes with our faults. It comes with our hang ups our insecurities. All of it. His perfect will for our lives is not contingent on our perfection but His!!!

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.                   Ephesians 1:4-5 (NLT)

Even before he made the world!!! Sweet friend do not go another second feeling unworthy of being in the family of God. There was never a second that you weren’t already thought of and chosen for this. The redemption was already set up before we needed redeeming!

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)

You are chosen!! Then is says “God’s special possession”. The NLT version says, “God’s very own possession”. You are no one else’s but His!! You don’t belong to your mistakes or your mess ups. You belong to him.

Go out today with the confidence that comes from knowing who you are and who you belong to.

In Him, Ashley
