“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” (Proverbs 19:21 NIV)

Most of us have expended a lot of energy pursuing the dreams God gave us.  Some may be content with the effort they have made, while others may feel like an epic failure.  Does this resonate in your spirit?

I wanted to be a nurse from about the age of 3.  I made it to nursing school and was fully pursuing the dreams God gave, or so I believed.  Then, 1.5 years in to a 3 year RN program, chronic pain set into both my knees and I had to quit.  It honestly shattered me.  I spent a year in deep depression mired in fear.  I literally thought my life was over.

Long story short, I went back to College, got my Office Administration Certificate and worked in Healthcare for 21 years.  Then, the chronic pain escalated and I had to quit and go on disability.  After a year and a half of housework, I took a Certified Professional Coach course.  The journey since then has been a rollercoaster ride, but I am now finally doing what I think God intended for me to do before I was even born.  I am continuously pursuing the dreams God gave me, they just look a little different than I had planned.

If you can relate to this, then I encourage you to keep trying.  God will guide the way so don’t give up!  No matter what the circumstances are that you’re facing.  How do I know?

Throughout my life, He has been faithful!  Romans 8:28 says “He is faithful to complete the good work he had begun in you.”  That is a promise.

Just remember that the end result may look far different to what you expected.  You will still know deep inside, that this path is yours because joy and excitement will fill your soul and spirit.
