“You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 NKJV

I have been meditating on that verse for quite some time.  Recently, I found myself asking “what is the truth?” and most recently “what is my truth?” Pretty simple answers, but I found that they are more than simple. These truths are my testimony, my life, my declarations. They are the foundation on what I stand on.  Here are some of my truths:

  1. I am redeemed by the blood of the Jesus.
  2. I am a child of God.
  3. I am  more than a conqueror.
  4. I was not given a spirit of fear.
  5. I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Another truth is that there are days when I don’t feel like these truths are my truth. The truth is, sometimes the lie of the enemy has become my truth.  In a total vulnerable and raw admission, that truth is difficult to admit. We often times give the enemy access to distort our truths.  If those declarations are the foundation that I stand on, does that mean my foundation is shakable?  No.  It simply means that I am standing on the wrong thing.  Jesus is the foundation and those declarations are the promises of God and building blocks of my faith.

For every lie the enemy has, God has already made a truth that overrides it. That truth is Jesus.  We all know how the enemy works to deceive us, to distort our view of the truth just like he did in the garden.  He is even called the deceiver in the bible.  But let me tell you something sisters, the bible says “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life'” John 14:6 NKJV.  There is no lie on earth that can ever beat that truth.  Jesus already did at the cross!

Let me encourage you today to get to know the Jesus that is written in the scriptures and not the Jesus we have made Him to be.  When we get to know The Truth (Jesus) then we are set free from the lies. With Jesus as our foundation, our solid rock we will be unshakeable boldly declaring the Truth!
