But if not…

This is a lesson that my youth pastor spoke on, and one that I think of often. He would beat up this trash can that represents life, and how life is hard. Life is challenging. However we need to be “but if not” Christians. Meaning we can pray for things to go one way, but if they don’t we will still follow after Him. We will still trust in Him no matter the cost. This message pops into my head probably once a week, because I need it to be a constant reminder. Life is hard, and right now it’s not going my way. Sometimes I look up and wonder why, and if God really cares. In those times, I remember being a “BIN” and knowing that God is still there, still working, and still present. He does not, and will not give up on you.

Lord, it is my prayer that each person reading this has the courage and the strength to be a “but if not” christian. I pray that they trust you even when life is messy, and they chase after you when times are good. I pray for anyone struggling. I pray you put your hand upon them and guide them. Lord I pray things in your glorious name, Amen.
