A very frustrated woman looks at her husband and says, “It really doesn’t matter anymore.”
You see she has been bringing this subject up for years. You know the one.
Things aren’t right.
Can we see a counselor?
We need to talk.
And, finally she has had enough and tells him she is going to go stay with her parents for a spell. He is in complete shock and denial – because you see, he never had the time nor the interest to hear her side. Her feelings. Her emptiness.
I am here to remind you, daughters of the Most High God, IT MATTERS.
O! IT MATTERS.
Jesus Christ came to set the captive free.
He came to deliver Mary of Magdala of seven demons. (Luke 8.1-3)
He came to heal the woman with the issue of blood. (Luke 8.43-48)
He came to raise to life the brother of His dear friends Mary and Martha. (John 11.38-44)
You. I. We. Matter.
If you find yourself in a situation of quiet suffering, please reach out to someone. It is imperative that you are heard. Don’t stay silent – find a person, a clergy-member, a friend who will listen and pray with you and for you. A person who will help you find the help and assistance you need.
It matters. Because YOU matter. Jesus said so.
Rise up Daughters of Zion.
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Zechariah 9.9 (ESV)
Jesus came to set the captive free! Let’s walk in His freedom!
