The first time I attempted the Insanity Workout with Shaun T, I had a nosebleed. It is not deemed the hardest interval workout for nothing. Any sane person would have given up, but I had an incentive, something to look forward to. If I completed all 60 days of the workout, I would get a t-shirt. Not just any old t-shirt but an Insanity priceless t-shirt so I kept on going. My back ached doing the Cardio Power & Resistance but I pressed on. Pure Cardio was a killer with no breaks in-between but I was not going to give up. I had to get that t-shirt. Plyometric Cardio Circuit hurt my knee but I strapped it with a brace and carried on jumping. I sweated blood and tears but never gave up. I persevered under stress my body had never faced before.
James 1:12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
I eventually got my t-shirt and wore it with pride. I had earned it. It got me wondering though. I went through all of that for a prize that would fade away. Imagine the joy when we receive our incorruptible crown for staying the course, for not giving up despite the persecution and trials, finally hearing the words, “Well done”! We have an incentive – an eternal prize. Don’t give up.
1 Corinthians 9:25 All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. God bless.
