Why Me Lord? Why Me?

“We are in this struggle together. You have seen my struggle in the past and you know that I am still in the midst of it.”          Philippians 1:30

“How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart everyday? How long will my enemy have the upper hand.” Psalm 13:2

There are so many times that I will find myself saying,”Why Me Lord, Why Me?” In the midst of a struggle or trial that I’m going through these words ring out every time. Sitting in silence, waiting on a reply from God I hear, “Why not You my dear child, Why not You?” These words stop me in my tracks and paralyzes me. Lord, you are right.

2017 was filled with many trials beginning with my dad’s cancer diagnosis, followed by our car wreck just 1 week later, then so many things after that, with ending the year with no car, very little groceries in the home and so much more. I have cried out to God so many times only to find out that there is a reason why He choose me to go through all this. I have often heard, what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger. This is so true. I’m not dead, I still have my family, my home and most importantly, I have God.

The following scripture speaks truth into my heart daily:

“So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord.”   Psalm 31:24

“The wise are mightier than the strong, and those with knowledge grow stronger and stronger.”   Proverbs 24:5

I have found that reading my bible, focusing on what God has to say to me, and staying focused on the plans that God has for me: the worry, the fear, the hardships, and the struggles don’t bother me as bad. Amidst our struggles, God has a big plan for us. He is making us stronger for something bigger, something that only He can prepare us for. If you remember one thing from this article, remember this “The Battle is God’s Not Yours!”
