Is God calling you to leave your comfort zone?

Jesus parting shot to His disciples in Acts 1:8 (NIV) was “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

However, the disciples were comfortable staying where they were in Jerusalem so the persecution began which dispersed the people across Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Acts 8:4 (NIV) Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.

If God wants you to leave a certain place because He wants you to minister to a different set of people, and you are holding on tightly, He will raise someone up to torment and inflict you until you do. They will make your life so unbearable that you’ll be left with no other option but to leave.

This is what happened to me recently. I did not want to leave a place where I felt so at ease, a place I knew intimately like the back of my hand and where I was Queen Bee so the Lord turned the one and only person who could get me out of there against me. I eventually left and other great and effectual doors began to open.

Resistance is futile beloved. The baby may hold on for dear life inside the womb unwilling to leave its comfort zone but by hook or by crook, it will be born. Obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Once He calls you, He will equip you for the task ahead. God bless you.
