What a wonderful fact!! To wake up each morning knowing that His mercies are new, every single day! This morning as I laid my heart before my Father, I thanked Him for His unfailing love, His grace and mercy.

There are days that come and go and when I’m ready to lay my weary body down, I realize that I didn’t spend enough time with the Lord. Those are the days I’m most tired and feel beat down by bedtime. On the days that I keep my thoughts on Him, it seems as though my energy is ever lasting. As I communicate with my Father throughout the day, He fills me with wonderful attributes and keeps the negative from affecting me and taking over. When we are weary and burdened, He longs for us to come unto Him. “Come unto to me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and His burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV). How beautiful He is, how I long to reflect the beautiful heart of my Father.

It seems so easy to become distracted by the day to day grind that happens, but if we remember to stay close to our Father, we will find so much peace and rest. I know that is a simple reminder but it is one that so often gets forgotten. We can’t make it through the day victoriously without our Fathers love, encouragement, discipline, wisdom, grace, and mercy. I was thinking about how I like for my skin to be tan, and I, also, like it when my psoriasis clears up, well, neither of those things will happen if I don’t spend time in the sun. That is what it is like with our Father, we can’t be filled with His fruits of the Spirit if we don’t purposefully seek Him and spend time with Him and in His Word.

Everyday is another opportunity to imitate our Father and strive to follow in His ways. If we choose to trust in Him, He will make our paths straight! Proverbs 3:5 always lifts my countenance when I am struggling and don’t understand the world around me at times.
