John 13:35 “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

So, in the last week I have either heard a sermon on or been speaking about love. Hurricane Harvey just hit last week, and the devastation is unbelievable. The people of Southeast Texas will be rebuilding for months, if not years.

My brother-in-law and sister were missionaries in Port Arthur for seven years, which is about an hour south of Houston. They lived through many hurricanes and had to rebuild several times. They know from experience how devastating this can be to a family.

I was talking to my sister and she and her husband are working through their organization, Outreach Port Arthur and the local churches to help people on the ground. Many of you may not know that the population of Pan-Asians who are Muslim is very high in these areas. They are “good” people who need to be shown the love of Christ. Through love we can reach the lost. We use every opportunity to show love. The local churches are showing Christ’s love through ministering to their physical and emotional needs during this time of devastation. They will continue to work for months to come.

I urge you to get involved in some mission action that shows love to a people group who don’t know Christ. Show love. Show Christ.
